Last week I encountered a problem sharing files with Windows Phone Link, displaying the error message “This app can’t share right now“.
You might experience a similar error message, or possibly one of the following:
- “this app can’t share right now“
- “something went wrong and this app can’t share right now“
- “this app can’t share right now windows 10“
- “windows 10 this app can’t share right now“
These error messages are more or less the same case I experienced.
The files I was going to share with another device (my phone) were a large number of music files.
You might understand that this error is caused by having too many files in the queue.
To address this, you can follow the solution I provide:
1. Copy all the files you will send to another device to a new folder (this will facilitate file management)
2. Paste all the files into the previously created folder
3. Select all files and right-click, then:
- Choose 7-Zip > Add to archive…
- Or if you are using WinRAR then simply choose Add to “….rar”
4. You can send the zip or rar file again
5. Congratulations, the files have been successfully sent. Next step is unzip/extract the file on your destination phone/device
Make sure your device does not kill the Phone Link process so that the file transfer does not encounter problems.
If you continue to face the “this app can’t share right now” issues despite following these steps, it could be worth checking if there are any pending updates for your Windows or Phone Link app that could resolve stability issues.
Sometimes, simply restarting both your computer and smartphone can also clear up any temporary glitches affecting connectivity.
That’s it, hope it helps!
